MD et al:

What is forgotten in this equation is that there are 10-12 million illegals working here and unemployment is at or near an historic low.

What does this mean? Well imho it means that even if there are some jobs being taken by illegals that Americans want and even if there is some wage deflation occurring due to their being here - we still need several million of them to function.

SO - we need a guest worker program with real rights and responsibilities on everyones part. With this we can then 'seal' the borders against rampant abuse and for security.

<<what about selling liquor or cigarettes to minors with an 'id' that 'looks good'

while i understand that there are some pretty 'good looking' fake id's out here....>>

Back in '67 I was traveling with a college friend who was 18. We stopped at a bar that served food for lunch and with a State Trooper sitting at the bar, my friend orders a beer. The trooper asks for ID and my friend had a driver's license that passed!! Made it himself in the days when letters came on waxed paper and you put the paper on the fake ID and rubbed the letters off.
