well PC magazine might not be the best prognosticator though... after all comdex was cancelled indefinitely and that trade show was basically an IT ad-fest more or less.

Maybe another more human interest mag might be a better tell, like Martha stewart living or something.

PC Mag is a bad example. Geeks were early adopters of online content, gotta go where the geeks go. I haven't picked up a computer mag in YEARS unless you count Wired which is more like an editorial version of the Sharper Image catalogue these days.

There are more magazines published today than anytime in history. If you don't believe me go to the magazine section of Greetings and Readings or a Borders. Count them all, it'll take you a couple of grande lattes to make it through.

Thanks to TIVO, TV ads are in my past. I occassionally go to the library to read magazines in their coffeeshop, but don't subscribe to any. No newspaper either - I listen to NPR when listening to radio.

Other than some internet sites, my life's pretty ad-free now.
