honestly, i don't follow solar technology that much (or hybrid cars) except to know that up till now, the cost of the tech exceeds the benefit .....

of course the higher fossil fuels go, the more feasible economically they become...

but at a hundred bucks a shingle, i think we have a way to go yet<g>

There's a company a few miles up the road from me that also makes solar shingles. If they catch on, and I believe they will, the price will come down dramatically. It may take a few years for the innovators in society to bring the volume up.

Just imagine using the sun to run your A/C unit, or at least some attic fans to keep the attic from overheating. It's there when you need it, and not there when you don't.
