The economy under Clinton in late 1999 was heading SOUTH, and by March of 2000, it was definitely in the soup. The dotcoms were bursting. Take a look at ALL the charts. You will see what Bush inherited. I know. I was a recruiter for more than 20 years....I knew which companies were hiring and which were not. By the Spring of 2000, well BEFORE the election, things were headed in the wrong direction for sure. And after Bush was elected, the results were in, and they were trying to cope with the Clinton mess. Again, look at all the charts. Then 9-11. Think back. The US was in a world of hurt in so many ways then....
