To: epicure who wrote (89 ) 4/15/2006 1:29:13 PM From: Solon Respond to of 186 "It's been years since I would say that I am here to be mean. " It might have been years since you would say that, I agree."If you are just out to slam me though, carry on " Don't even consider such an idea. This thread was created to expose people whom are mean and hurtful to others and whom separate society into we and them in a way that is prejudicial, intolerant, supercilious, and frankly--stupid. You put yourself into that category by your own thread activity and behavior, Eleutheria--just as Baker did. Perhaps I can explain it in a fashion that you can (or will) understand? In society, it is natural that people be divided into the good guys and the bad guys. Once you are labelled one of the "bad guys" (even if through a frame up or through an altercation with one of those running the show), you will thereafter be bullied and mistreated by the puppet masters and their puppets. Thereafter, the police will be against you even when you are a victim. Now, this is an ugly system but we have no better at the present stage of human evolvement. And we have made great strides to progress to where we are. Then along come people such as Baker. You and Baker also separate people into good and bad--we and them. However, with the two of you (and there are many others, needless to say), it has become an exercise in personal hostility and prejudice. In normal society (as thinly civilized as it ACTUALLY is), the "good" far outnumber those whom are "banned from the premises" or from the services--or from some other right of "we". However, in the little totalitarian subculture that you, Baker, and others create and urge--"they" are being handcuffed and discriminated against through personal caprice, hostility, and supercilious haughtiness. And the "they" number 24 citizens on Bakers VFTC thread alone. This is the reverse of what is natural and normal--when human dignity and rights are the fundaments. It is ugly, IMO. And it is the sort of prejudice that ought to be challenged if society is not to become insensitive to such totalitarianism. First we become insensitive, then tolerant, and finally embracing of such prejudice. Notice, that you can defend yourself HERE--or not. You can say what you wish to HERE--or not. That goes for Baker or anyone else in compliance with the TOU. This allows you to defend against perceived meanness or to dispute the factuality of claims made against you. It also allows the COMMUNITY of SI to weigh in for or against ANY question being examined here--whether personal or public. Peer pressure, freedom of speech, and a common association thus works to keep behavior and rights up front and visible. This is the way society works; correction...this is the way a DEMOCRATIC society grounded in human rights and dignity works. You already know how Totalitarian societies work, and you already know why I started this thread. "I can't figure out if you actually believe this stuff, or if you are just trying to get me over here to post " Again, please make yourself aware of the purpose of this thread. Thanks.
