Hummmmmmmmmmmm....sounds like a BIG loophole for Lawyers. Recruiters used to have an I-9 for EVERY person interviewed, along with the copy of ID and proof of right to work in the US....and they had to be filed separately from the application and/or resume. BIG bunch of extra work. However, I found it timesaving to get the I-9's at the same time I got their information, and tossed the I-9's in a file, and then if the person and company agreed to hire each other, I just had to retrieve the I-9 and reunite them with the application/resume.

There should be NO reason that recruiters need to do this, if other types of business doesn't.

If you're asking whether I have illegal alien clients, I have no idea. I don't do immigration law and the subject never comes up.
