I should not have said perhaps one can atrophy the subconscious center for paranoia, as I believe we can hypertrophy this center so clearly we can atrophy it.I am a believer that the good old American love of horror films can cause brain damage to kids just as premature sexual activity can.We are all born with a reality processor chip of a certain capacity and a subconscious paranoia center of a certain size. The chip is much more complicated and subject to little change much as ones IQ.We have a much more primitive paranoia center which in youth has a great deal of plasticity.Horror films and fearful situations develop this paranoia capacity.Since psychosis occurs when our processing chip is overloaded by the subconscious ,people with low capacity chips who never would have become psychotic otherwise, can become psychotic after hypertrophying their paranoia center. On another subject just for fun and to offer proof that we have hundreds of subconscious levels of brain functioning try the following.Ask someone to say the word silk ten times(silk, silk, silk, silk, silk, silk, silk, silk, silk, silk). Now ask the question "real quick, without thinking what do cows drink? The usual answer is milk(wrong)One area of your subconscious has already found every word that you know with __ilk in it.Another has made a list of every visual object that you can associate with a cow. They find a match and send it to your conscious. If you said water it is probable you were expecting a trick question. If you said water and are this careful with all your answers in life you will not function very well(you certainly will never win at Jeopardy)
