It probably is erroneous, and again, not knowing the calculations that led the author to write it, you should be admitting YOU erred in making the claim of a lie here, given what you know and don't know.

It is erroneous. There is no doubt about that. He said he took a 22 month period. That's almost two years. I looked at the annual data for Washington DC, and he's absolutely wrong about it. Now we don't know where he got his data on the troops in Iraq, but it's pretty clear that it's wrong too.

What is the difference between a lie and an error? The difference lies in the motivation for presenting falsehoods. When it comes to printing such in a national publication regarding the war and conditions in Iraq, then one must do the fact checking. That was not done. It is obvious that the writer had the intent to deceive, in implying that it's safer on the streets of Baghdad than in Washington DC. I call that a lie, because the author did not do his due diligence. Even basic checking of the facts makes it clear that it is far more dangerous in Iraq than in Washington. If it's not a lie, then the person who wrote that is obviously mentally incompetent. That would also go for the editor of the publication as well.

I truly see a strong reactionary redneck streak in you, as illustrated by more than one point made in your posts on this matter.

Yes I am a conservative redneck. What of it?
