Why is it our responsibility to shape the Middle East when we don't like those people, don't understand them, don't really care about them, and the feeling is mutual? Seems to be it's the height of studity to even attempt it. When have any of our ventures into the ME been successful? Remember Reagan and the Marines barracks being blown up? Somalia? Even Afghanistan is falling apart despite full global support for the mission. Bottomline, there is only one reason Bush-Cheney went into Iraq, to seize the oilfields for their cronies. No other explanation makes any sense.
