From what I read it was, every nickle from HAL. Close to $7,000,000 last year. He even bought an insurance policy for $28k in case HAL can't pay the charities still get the $$.

You're right about the deferred compensation. It is also insured. Hals success or failure has no financial bearing on Cheney.
