The blacks never had their own language (if you don't count ebonics), but mainly they never had their own media. The Spanish-language media is a powerful organizing force that operates completely under the radar of the rest of America.

I have read that it is Spanish language radio / talk shows that are promoting the demonstrations. Frankly, I was impressed. I think they scared the sh-t out of the politicians... the Latins are a hell of a voting block and I don't think anybody realized they could organize like that. Stopped the Congress in it's tracks wrt immigration legislation. I don't think these guys will do anything until after the mid-terms, if then.


I continue to think they have overstepped their bounds. I think Americans are just waking up to what's really happening in this country when it comes to illegals and I don't think their reaction will be pretty. Even hear in very liberal Seattle, I am hearing grousing about the illegals waving the Mexican flag.
