I don't know about the "rest of the world", but I'm convinced that Iran is dead serious. Furthermore, it hasn't done anything wrong -- it has signed the nuclear disarmament treaty with which it abides and has conformed to all IAEA regulations -- neither of which Israel has done and, as you know, Israel actually does have many atom bombs. So, whatever hypocritical game the "rest of the world" is playing with Iran I can't tell you but there's no doubt that it is pure hypocrisy. Sauce for the goose is surely sauce for the gander -- but not in this case, apparently.

Anyway, I don't think Iran had any alternative -- if it backs down in the face of the USrael onslaught they would still persist in exactly the same way they did with Iraq. Iran is damned if it does and damned if it doesn't so it may as well play them at their own game.
