Well, I definitely think the complainants are over-reacting to the provocation, but I also think that particular book ("Marketing of Evil") is unnecessarily provocative for incoming freshmen without some kind of professorial guidance or oversight.

I'll never forget my stepsister having a nervous breakdown her first semester at SMU (Southern Methodist University) -- she was brought up in a protective environment and even that little bit of change was just too much for her. Had to come home.

If we were just going to throw kids into the world of ideas and let them fend for themselves why even bother with college?

Although they certainly get exposed to strange ideas on the Internet.
