"So what if they jobs before they came over here?"

Because it blows out of the water the argument that just tightening the borders is the way to control illegal immigration. If employers are recruiting overseas and paying for them to get here, then enforcement of the laws against employers and possibly stiffer penalties is necessary.

re: Many Mexicans Have Jobs Before Crossing
***********************
An irrelevant point you brought up before but I didn't feel like responding to. So what if they jobs before they came over here? To use a term liberals have used to negatively spin low unemployment numbers under Bush, those Mexicans were "underemployed."

And it's the responsibility of the US to make sure everyone in every third world country is not underemployed? Don't you think we should have a slight bias towards our own citizens? Or should we just give up our borders to the UN (read open) control?

Did you read the article, or just the headline (you responded to)? US companies are not only enabling ILLEGAL immigration, they are encouraging ILLEGAL immigration.

All it takes is enforcing the laws. I thought you were a "law and order" guy. I'll ask again, do you think we should vigorously enforce the laws against employing illegals at sub-subsistence wages?
