ran CAN'T shut down the Strait of Hormuz. It's a ridiculous myth that they can.

LOL! Iran can easily blow up ships passing thru. once they blow up one or two, how many commercial vessels do you think are going to try to pass? they don't need to blockade it.

US is impotent...

blandbutmarvelous re Strait of Hormuz

Iran could close the Strait at any time for as long as it desires and we could do nothing to prevent it. It won't happen because they are going to get what they want because they hold all the aces in this game and they know it. Israel does not have the capacity to takeout a diverse Iranian nuclear program and will not take the risk of attacking Iran over Arab airspace. Iran's very sophisticated missile capabilities would put Israel under an immediate response. That same capability would keep our navy at bay. I say relax, nothing is going to happen unless somebody does something silly.

<<Iran CAN'T shut down the Strait of Hormuz>>

i do not see much oil coming out of iraq, and so have no particular reason to believe that iran cannot be taken off-line,either via the shutdown of the Strait or by means similar to iraq

seems a pretty straightforward take on obvious possibilities
