Hi Jack,
Well here is what I have always thought and sometimes posted:
1.Silver has to be found.
2.Now days you usually need permits and a long process to dig it out.
3.It is costly and labor intensive to dig it out.
4.It costs a bit to refine it to purity.
5.It costs again to make it into coinage.
6.An american Eagle or Canadian Maple Leaf in your hand is a thing of great beauty to me.
7.Some say silver is quite rare, I do not know.

With just those basic thoughts I can easily see $20.00 for one of these:
