We don't need to militarily secure oil. That's just plain dumb policy.

We need to use more solar, wind, develop clean coal, get rid of the Ford Expeditions, Suburbans, fund faster development of hydrogen, and other alternative energy sources. America can be energy independent quite quickly if the effort was made.

No, ultimately we can't stop Iran from going nuclear, just as ultimately we can't stop them from using a nuclear weapon if and when they construct one. But that doesn't render us powerless and impotent if they do.

Not sure what you mean here. Invade Canada? We don't need our military for that. We could just walk right in and take it. The Canadians won't stop us. Canada is the Tibet of North America.
