Hey, Duke Cunningham is a true war hero. And also a disgraced clown! Its possible to be both. Respect the service, ridicule the man. No problem.

Think of the SmearVets (aka SwiftVets): Those guys are complete lying clowns, but they still served their country. Respect their service, ridicule their lies.

They told Rambo to move on down the road - they didn't want his kind in thier town - war vet? Who gives a shit about war vets? Patton and Mcarthur ran over the war vets in washington with the tanks - google.com

He fucked over one of the very guys that saved his life - HAHA!

After the war Patton was assigned to the tank centre at Camp Meade where he met and became close friends with Dwight D. Eisenhower. In 1932 Patton joined Eisenhower and Douglas MacArthur in dealing with the Bonus Army in Washington. MacArthur, controversially used tanks, four troops of cavalry with drawn sabers, and infantry with fixed bayonets, on the protesters. He justified his attack on former members of the US Army by claiming that the country was on the verge of a communist revolution. One of the leaders of the demonstration was Joe Angelo, the man who had saved Patton's life at Meuse Argonne.

Nope, he has to earn the respect. Stooges like him (and Powell, the coward who is now coming out of the closet - AFTER his lies have killed hundreds of thousands of people) don't deserve any respect.

"you should show respect to him , he is a veteran , a war hero."

I only respect principle and not position. I have just as must respect if not more so (because of their moral fortitude and personal obstacles encountered) for a person who resisted the draft because they disagreed with the war as I have for somebody who went to war as matter of principle. Soldiering and therefore killing as a career is in my book one of the most shameful professions.

It is and has been a very convenient and quite common practice in most societies to put veterans on a pedestal simply to encourage more young and impressionable folks to do the bidding for the people in power with their war machines.
