The Dems have not had any real power since 2000. You can't blame them for the mess we're in now. They would have done things much better.

In the 1990's Democrats gave us an even better economy, much more fairly distributed, and it was not only all paid for but reaped large surpluses. Plus, we had cheaper gas and health care and took a lot better care of our environment education system and workers rights and safety standards.

Also, Clinton took out a major dictator without losing a single US soldier, and he had an Al Qaida desk in the WH which stopped the 1999 LAX Al Qaida bombing. Bush disbvanded that desk and did not replace it. Hence, 9-11.

"The Dems are no better. We need to clean house and take the country back."

Yep. Unfortunately the list of "real" good guys is pretty short.

Democrats are much more ethical than Republicans these days.
I worked for Kerry for awhile raising money. We had the strictest ethical standards imaginable. Too strict. Not a single dollar was accepted if the donor even hinted or joked about wanting anything in return. Many large checks were returned.

Contrast this to Bush-Cheney and Tom Delay. Right after the election, Bush-Cheney threw a huge party with the HMO and drug company lobbyists who came loaded with bribe money. Soon after, the Bushies worked with Frist to devise a Medicare "reform" (read huge ripoff) plan which guaranteed fat profits for the HMO's and drug companies, made it illegal for the US government to negotiate for lower prices from the profiteers and deliberately underestimated the true cost of the program by 135 billion just to get it through the house.

HMO's and drug companies gave about 35 million to the GOP, and are getting back about 35 billion. Talk about coruption. And don't even get me started on the energy gouging or the profiteering from the Iraq War, FEMA, Homeland Security etc. Just a huge mountain of pork spending and bribery. And democrats have had little, if anything, to do with with it.
