We can provide pressure, but if they bomb an allied nation or us - the gloves will come off

Which is why they won't do it directly. Suddenly a never-before heard-of terrorist group with some facile grievance will pop up, and bombs will go off all over Europe. The political front group will of course be funded by Iran, like Hezbollah, but hey - they only do humanitarian work, they don't build bombs.

I don't make the mistake of believing our enemies don't have eyes, ears, and brains like us and haven't been watching for the past 30 years. I expect our battle with Al Qaeda was little more than the opening shots. The real terror war may be at hand, and I don't think the West has the guts for it.

We need peace in our time. At any cost.

Why does that bring to mind Ariel Sharon's statement that "we do not intend to become another Czechoslovakia"?
