You know, they did it before and got out of it after a couple years and were so glad they got into a house. But they have wanderlust, live on the edge financially, are a bit bored, and wax nostalgic. Their kids including me all think they are a bit nuts.

The thing that sticks out though is that one can live so much more cheaply in that manner. If you parked your rig on your kid's property for some of the year (if they didn't see you coming and quickly move away), your costs would be even lower. You don't actually have to move them very often so gas cost isn't that much of an issue.

Still, I agree, it would suck for the most part. If there's an upswing in people doing that, it will be out of necessity.
