They're here already. Approximately 20% of the DC metro area, 25-30% in New York and LA. 12% of Seattle metro area is foreign born, 20% first generation. The fact that you don't know this indicates to me that they're doing a pretty good job of assimilating already.

Karen, Europe and Canada are mosaics that 'celebrate' differences, we are the real UN - we assimilate. Did the Irish ruin America? Did the Italians? 99% of us were immigrants and each wave was despised by those already here. Lets stop discussing a few nutcases talking about hispanic nationalism and lets discuss a real solution - lets grab the 6-10 closest states in Mexico and absorb them into the Union. We can make a better (shorter) border while we are at it. :-)
