I just saw on Neal Cavuto that the RNC is running a Spanish language radio ad in LA accusing the Democrats of voting to criminalize undocumented immigration! The explanation is that, while some Republicans voted to make it a felony, some Republicans put in an amendment to make it a misdemeanor, and the Democrats voted down the amendment. According to the RNC that makes the Democrats the ones who want to criminalize immigration. Methinks there's been some sort of sea change among the Republican Grand Poobahs and they aren't going to cater to "the base" on this one anymore.
