March book-to-bill ratio 1.04 ---
North American-based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted $1.35 billion in orders in March and a book-to-bill ratio of 1.04, industry association SEMI said late Tuesday. The March figure is up 37% from orders of $988 million in the same month last year, and almost 5% higher than February's $1.29 billion. Billings for the month stood at $1.3 billion, 2% higher than the $1.27 billion recorded last year, and about 1% above the February level of $1.28 billion.
