Sam Currin is a professor of law, trial attorney and the senior partner of the Currin Law Firm, PLLC, which has offices in Wilmington and Raleigh.

He concentrates his practice in the areas of federal and state white collar crime, serious personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death law. He is also an adjunct law professor at the Campbell University School of Law where he teaches federal criminal law and practice.

Mr. Currin is highly respected in the legal community and enjoys an "AV" rating by Martindale-Hubbell-the highest rating given to an attorney based on legal ability and legal ethics.

He is a 1971 cum laude, with honors in history, graduate of Wake Forest University and a 1974 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law. Mr. Currin was nominated by President Reagan and confirmed by the United States Senate as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. During his tenure as a federal prosecutor, he tried many high-profile cases and served on several U.S. Justice Department committees. Mr. Currin is an active member of the National Association of Former United States Attorneys.

Following his service as United States Attorney, Mr. Currin was appointed a Superior Court Judge by the Governor of North Carolina. Judge Currin served as a trial judge for four years and held court in half of North Carolina's 100 counties. He is also a graduate of the National Judicial College.

Upon leaving the bench, Judge Currin founded his own law firm and quickly established himself as a federal and state criminal defense attorney. He has represented criminal defendants all across the United States in both state and federal courts. Additionally, he can be found in courtrooms across North Carolina litigating wrongful death, medical malpractice and serious personal injury cases.

Mr. Currin has been featured numerous times on local and national radio and television programs, including NBC's Today Show.
