Yep... context is everything. Since in reality context is infinite (really, in a way the entire history of the universe and of course every aspect of my life is the context for this message), what is the point of calling up our own limited memories & opinions on most issues except for our own decisions?? Why would I assume that my (by definition) limited knowledge of the history of these religions is some truth I 'need' judge them by or to tell others about?? As you say, just 'look' or observe now.... and of course new info, like the Pope calling for the destruction of Isreal (or anyone else) would then change my mind as well. :)
