OT: Heck, I even went outside in Dangriga during the night, not that I enjoyed that much. That was a little nerve-racking.

Belize was fine for me during my two weeks there, I do not have patrician tastes, so I never got close to Ambergris Cay or the like. I spent the time kayaking and camping, mostly on small cays, and stayed in a few small hotels along the way.

I would definitely do a longer reconnaissance before getting firmly committed to the idea.
