At least you proved it could be done! With that 10%+ premium, I think a short position makes a lot of sense, especially if played against a long position in GLD. Excellent arbitrage situation for small investors.

I just had to re-enter all my login information with Waterhouse a few minutes ago. Maybe the consolidation process with Ameritrade messed you up.
