JF, Your links are to the status quo. What's your point? That the current system sucks? We agree.

If you have the time, the 5-part article is a great read.

One major problem with the hospital is that the surrounding community is VERY resistant to reform. To them, an extremely poor performing hospital is better than none at all.

Think that will never happen with universal health care? I'm not going to bet on it, especially given our bloated government. Funny how you call me the ideologue while pretending to be the pragmatist, because in reality, the main reason for universal health care is idealistic, e.g. providing health care to those who can't afford it. There is nothing inherently more efficient with universal health care, except the notion that it's gotta be better than what we have today.
