Remittances means the money aliens (both legal and illegal) working here send back to their families. It's not government money. Maybe the US employers of ILLEGALS should hold ALL their pay, sending it to the Government to hold, until they are 65 years old, and come back to claim it.... Then they'd have to find legal employees as no one would work for free. It is of course illegal to employ illegal aliens. So employers of illegal aliens pretend they're legal and withhold SS and other taxes which their employees will never get back.
