What do you want? We can't even get the Euros to agree to decent sanctions. Even if they did, Saddam shows how worthless they are The one thing I can think to do right now is to try to shorten Iran's arm. Go after Hizbollah to disarm and put the vice to Sadr, and try to isolate and starve Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist orgs. And we should get together with the Gulf states and make a statement that any attempt to close the Hormuz would be considered a declaration of war against the US and all the Gulf states, and explicitly put the Gulf states under the US nuclear umbrella.
