"Shatter"? Probably not. And we don't have 850K soldiers, war is different these days.

But Iraq is putting a world of hurt on this country, in a number of different ways. For no good reason.

You, I guess, don't see the many parallels between Hitler & Bush, Stalingrad & Iraq: blind arrogance leading to blind (utterly stupid) estimation of the situation leading to Iraq/Stalingrad.
No need to compare the body count.
And the same idiocy is apparant with Katrina & Global Warming & our energy crisis. The shit has hit the fan so often, even you should be smelling it by now.
