Right, thats why I'm excited too - you know, I was and I'm
now bullish. The mean problem for AMD at the DC ramp is the
BIG die, thats the "only", but a big problem. 512K DIEs are
"OK", but 2x1MB Core in F-step are huge, too huge when you
ask me to ramp HEAVILY in the desktop. For Servers no problem
here, but nothing you could "throw" away in the channel for
200 bucks. So FAB36 is welcome, of course and Chartered, just
because we have more DC space in FAB30 which will be needed.
I saw early 65nm specs and hoped they could ramp faster, but
as always, strategie is "conversative" and even very strong
pushing on all fronts. So I'm looking forward for NGA intros,
whether AMD will ship 65nm (preview) products to reviewers
just to "piss" into the Intel parade. Depends on the launching
table at Intel. ;-)
