INTC Intel’s aggressive push in emerging markets to counter AMD-supported US$100-laptop project - Digitimes (19.45 ) Digitimes reports Intel's recent aggressive push into emerging markets are seen as a response, in part, to the USS$100-laptop project launched by the One Laptop per Child (O.L.P.C.) research initiative, under the auspices of The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab. The OLPC project aims to produce 7.5-inch notebooks, which adopt the Geode CPU series from AMD, and will target the product to seven emerging countries in the fourth quarter of this year.
