Well that's nothing new in not only the PC world but the computer support world in general. Back when I was supporting IBM's largest customers and fixing complex operating system problems our support groups were consistently relied upon to 'hash out' problems between different layers of both IBM and OEM software to figure out what the problem was. When customers are paying millions you can do that, and when customers were paying 'thousands' for a PC you can do that, but these days Dell apparently no longer wants to do that with a heavier workload in tech support and $500 machines. I'm not saying it's right, so you have to vote with you feet, although I don't know that the competition is that much better.

Regards,
John
