There is no, and I mean zero, peer reviewed scientific "controversy" about global warming, the greenhouse effect, and the fact that we are contributing to it.

No, there isn't.

What is controversial is the extent of the problem and what could/should be done about it.

Both the folks who deny global warming and those who run around yelling "the sky is falling" are unhelpful because together they suck all the air out of the room. The choice is not between no warming and catastrophe. Denial is not helpful and neither is fear-mongering.

The news media in this country, which to this day continues to insert verbiage of the form "many scientists believe..."

"Many scientists believe..." does not belong where the assertion is that the earth is warming but it does belong in the disaster scenarios and most of the modeling and predictions.

If you have not seen the Dimming of the Sun I recommend it.
To wit, I am 75 and the eventually effects of the predictions of this documentary (entirely scientific and no opines ) will not effect me. But it will effect my children, grandchildren and the future generations...

The predictions for what we can expect commence about 10 years from now. I hope to live that long. In 20 years there may be no New York City or Florida.
