>>>Sorting the facts from the fiction is what astute observers do. Of course, I wouldn't expect you to understand that.<<<

This is why several of us--and I believe Mark included, if I recall correctly--were correct when we debated you and others that there was no reason to attack Iraq, that the war was illegal and that we were being lied to as to the Bush Administrations justifications for invading a nation that hadn't done anything to America. Now our soldiers are dying, becoming maimed and psychologically ruined--it is this that is the true fact, along with the woe of Gold Star Mothers, Everywhere USA!

You believe what you WANT to believe. This interchange started because you asserted that no one has been killed in GITMO. My point is that you don't know that for sure unless you live there and had firsthand experience of the fact.

You believe what you want to believe and then you criticise me for lack of astuteness. What an ass!!!

Did the "lefty" MSM lie when they parroted Bush-Cheney's claims about WMD in Iraq and Al Qaida connections? Did they lie when they failed to report on the gross Bush campaign election fraud in Florida 2000 and Ohio 2004? Or when they interviewed Swiftvets "for truth" as if any of them were telling the truth? How about when they claimed the Medicare Bill cost 135 billion less than it did to get is passed in congress? Or that No Child Left Behind scorecards were not leaving out the bottom 2 million kids? Or that Bush-Cheney can't do anything about soaring energy prices?

The list of lies the Bush-Cheney people have told the media and gotten repeated is enormous. It got us into this war and it got us trillions deeper in debt. But the press has gotten better of late. They have begun to disbelieve the RNC spin and see through it to the truth. The old RNC smear campaigns therefore may never work again.

Bush-Rove's manipulation of the media is criminal. From their staged events in front of the troops or with audience members who have to sign loyalty pledges like in Nazi Germany (so everyone will cheer Bush's every word even when he tells lies) to the paying off of reporters and planting of false intel in the NY Times and other news services. Here's Partytime's grand list of Bushie media manipulations, all which cost this country dearly. So much for the "lefty" media huh?
