With the Osbourne I remember the technitions going to the field, downloading a patch over the phone, and burning a new EPROM on site. The customers were very impressed. Circa 1985.

Osbourne had some ads that featured several people in business dress standing around at a bus stop or walking on the sidewalk or something similar. Most were carrying a briefcase, one was carrying an Osbourne. The ad invited you to pick the winner. And then explained why the one carrying the Osbourne was the real winner, listing all the specs and software included. Not bad as far as ads go. Well, Uzi decided to spoof the ads. Same sort of setup, but they pointed out the guy with the Uzi in his briefcase would be the real winner, dutifully listing rate of fire and the other specs.

Nice......Uzi doing a copycat is probably in an insult.

Its funny to hear about that ad from the mid 1980s.....so typically tech. Tech was supposed to save the world.......actually they still think it will.
