And the National Geographic article on the danger hanging over New Orleans a year in advance, what was that ? Left Wing lunatics ? Of course not. Any idiot could see the risk to New Orleans. Hurricanes, levees, and below sea level residences are known things. Apply some simple probabilities and you have a prediction that New Orleans will flood sooner or later. Duh. NYC under water within 20 years is a kind of worst case scenario Yes, very, very worst case. Ergo anyone who asserts that it will happen is either lying or nuts. I stand by what I said. Did that make a lot of sense ? Lots of things don't make sense, including ignoring global climate change. The people in this country who need to "get a grip" are those who voted for Bush because Rove agitated the Guns/Gays/Abortion/StemCells scarecrows. There are people on both sides of most issues who need to get a grip, including global warming and the ones you mention, plus my personal favorite, that the Islamofascist terrorists are about to kill us all. That other true believers in other areas are fear mongering, however, doesn't excuse fear mongering global warming.
