When the "blame France" smear campaign started in 2002, that signalled a new low for this country.

First of all, Bush needed diplomacy not xenophobia. His lack of diplomacy cost this country dearly. Secondly, Chiraq is a conservative and would have been a natural ally for Bush. Third, France was right about Iraq and Bush was wrong. Fourth, what that was really all about was Bush's Texas cronies wanting to steal France's oil contracts in Iraq, which they did. So it was all for Halliburton and Exxon, which proceeded to cheat and gouge the American consumers.

Another big low was the "blame the corrupt UN" smear campaign. Now we know the UN is exactly who we need in Iraq, but we don't have them thanks to Bush-Cheney. Plus, the UN "corruption" was miniscule compared to what's going on in the world of Bush-Cheney, and was almost all due to the same type of sleazy middlemen Cheney in Iran and Iraq to rattle sabers and steal oil.
