re: I am not necessarily against putting the draft into place if for no other reason that to let Americans realize there are consequences when your president acts like an idiot. However, I am incensed with how the Iran war drums have begun to beat almost daily like the lead up to Iraq. And, frankly, I am not too happy with an ex marine asshole adding to those drums. As I said before, I don't always agree with the articles I post. I think the good points he makes are about a draft. The reason people are not in the streets protesting this war is that they can't see it in their lives. They don't pay for it with their taxes or the involuntary death of their kids. To me that's disgusting. It's not Bush's war, it every US citizens war. You and me included; we are complicit and responsible for everything that has happened. Unless and until people have to pay a price, they will never understand that it is they who are wielding the axe, and killing the kids. And that part is as immoral as the war itself. John
