I think all we need is to hold above 5% till the end of the year and the trend is broken. We'll we way outside that upper downtrend line by then.

Agreed. But I don't pretend to know the 'how it will happen,' I just watch to see what does happen.

But one way to see LT rates fall from here in the face of more Fed hikes would be just the collapse/deflation/severe recession/possible depression you speak of.
