Since the end of WW II, there has always been a group of Americans that feel we can FORCE our beliefs and way of life on other nations, by the barrel of a gun if necessary. The cold war restrained us, as such a course of action might have lead to WW III. AT the end of the cold war, all through the Clinton years, these folks were chafing at the bit. They saw it as OUR TIME, the time to make the big move. Bush and the neocons are the political expression of these guys. It's not the America I want. It can lead to nothing but bad things for us, as the idea is morally bankrupt on it's face, and bound to fail, as proven by empires in history over and over. I want us to be a nation among nations, not a nation above nations, because we aren't.
