James Carville is the most skilled and unscrupulous propagandist since Josef Goebbels. Whatever a REAL American thinks of EITHER of those slime bags, one has to respect their raw effectiveness. The entire Democrat party will keep trying to be Carville wannabes for the foreseeable future, because propaganda is all they are able to offer. The Republicans, especially the administration, should learn from this. George Bush is being slammed by all the usual suspects about the price of gasoline-the propaganda bullshit issue du jure. He should view that as an opportunity. The "Carville Method" would be to comment on it constantly-every time a microphone goes live-and EVERY SECOND and THIRD WORD OUT OF HIS (or his boss's) MOUTH would be "Democrats" and "ANWAR" (or, as you will recall: it was "Ken Starr" and "Big Tobacco" for a while.) The entire administration would also be carefully instructed to say "Democrats" and "ANWAR" every time they were interviewed ABOUT ANYTHING AT ALL. And anyone who neglected their duty in this respect would be chastised. It is definitely unseemly-but it's PROFOUND. And this is, after all, politics...
