Hitting is the hardest thing to do in any sport in any time. Thats why we should give Baroid some slack. No matter now may roids he took, the eye hand thing is remarkable to watch. But alas bonds is a racist and after he passes Ruth he will retire and aarons record will remain. If he were a true gentleman, he would have quite before he passed Willie Mays last year. If Willie had taken steroids, he would have hit over 800 HRs.

Well sure, even sooner if the guy is bringing heat. It's been a long time, but I could swear I've followed the ball from the pitcher's hand to the bat more than a few times. And that thing about pop-ups - I don't know what kids are taught anymore, but anyone who's a natural player (like me) floats around under a pop-up, you don't just stand there!

Eye-dominance, timing, weight distribution and wrist action are everything when it comes to hitting.

But what do I know--I was a great bunter and hit-and-run specialist (always #2 in the line-up)--lol! Once I got my base, I usually stole the next one and sometimes the next one after that! Luis Aparicio and Nellie Fox were my heroes. They still are, as I'm now the oldest player in my softball league--a hitter's league. At age 40 a younger player stole my shortstop position and I got relegated to second base. Today, I'm the 'Ole Man on The Mound'--lol! Opening day for me is this Thursday evening at 8 p.m. Can't wait!!!
