I don't think that would explain the high concentration of illegals here in Salt Lake City. I credit the Mormons. They'll happily welcome anyone they think they can turn into a Mormon, from any country. There are a lot of Asians and Pacific islanders here from their efforts. Also, they love to exploit the cheap labor of the potential foreign Mormons. They greatly resemble the Catholics in this.

There was an article in the paper about how WELCOMED illegals feel here, for just those reasons. Don't forget that the Mormon church sends thousands of missionaries out every year to foreign countries to attempt to convert new Mormons. It's a lot easier and cheaper if they just come here! If they don't convert, well, they can still underpay and exploit them!
