These same companies went into total shock during the 1990s when employees showed they were willing to skip as soon as a better offer turned up. "What ever happened to old fashioned company loyalty" they wondered. Totally missing that loyalties go both ways and as soon as one side trash cans it, the other side doesn't feel obligated any more...

Companies are always stunned when what goes around comes around. And its not surprising for them to expect loyalty when they provide none. Its called noblesse oblige.
