An IPO of the Austrian Post Office will restore the previous order when the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian appointed Franz von Thurn und Taxis to create and run a privately owned post office in 1505.

The von Thurn und Taxis post office became public in Germany in 1871, and probably in Austria around the same time.

The $2 billion fortune is currently controlled by the flamboyant Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis,
