I happen to be most comfortable with domestic small and mid-caps as my momentum plays, but I very much agree with Mr. El-Erian's investing philosophy.

The philster was talking about that this morning - the past few weeks too. He said only the big companies in the sp500 can benefit from the emerging market growth and globalization - that all these crooks will try to tell you to invest in small cap but that domestic small cap can't take advantage of the foreign growth and will not give good returns. I guess you have a choice - invest in the small mom and pop or the big walmart - one is going to be open for business next year.

Interesting, but of course inflation is running at 4%, not two percent; and the guy selling you the out of the money puts is named Warren Buffet. What do you know that Buffet doesn't?
