People read headlines, do not have the background, training, interest, education, experience to really use critical analysis on most articles; and there is bias which colors ones conclusions and interpretations. All in all , MSM is successful in their reporting to create a opinion for the populace. Look at Bush's approval polls. How could this be? He inherited a recession in full bloom. He and the fed reserve turned it around and look at the economy now. He responded to 9-11 with the patriot act, legal NSA surveillance, Homeland securiity, new CIA guy etc, got rid of Taliban in Afghan with small force of special ops, horses, lasors, airplances and Northern Alliance. Accomplished the regime change in Iraq in 3 weeks. Only hard time is stabalizing Iraq with a new government. But that is about done IMO and we can start removing our forces leaving behind the same type of force and airpower as AFGHAN. And then we have social policies. No child left behind Act. With a teenager I am familiar and that is working well to stop the automatic up and out methods of the past. The Medicare Drug act also should save a lot of money on both Medicare A and B expenses as less hospital and doctor's visits should be required. Drugs are the cheapesst way to treat problems. Bush was not able to reform SS because of Dem filibuster and now Immigration is on the table. All in all , how everyone can be so mad at Bush and not approve of his performance can only be explained by constant negative statements from the MSM. Conclusion- They are effective and general populace is not seeing right thru "them" as you contend. Rich
